    My guess is they kept the player they thought most likely to be claimed, and cut the ones they thought they could slip through waivers and onto the PS.

    Bush and Salley probably weren't going to be active anyway and therefore wouldn't have been on special teams.

    I have a hard time they'd roster a veteran special teams player and not have him active

    It holds water just as much as activating a 7th LB over a guy who beat him. Why would you have a veteran player here for his ST ability, inactive? If so, we'd keep Hankton inactive occasionally. And we don't.

    I get the impression they thought the draft choices were more likely to get claimed.

    Speaking of drafts. someone, somewhere said cutting Haye was another strike against last year's draft. I don't think so. Haye is a player. We just have too many DLs. Hopefully we figure out a way to work him back in there.
