you probably have never seen either player play have you? white was an idiot. he left after his freshman year when he still had some developing to do. withers has taken the eddie basden route. he came in as a pretty highly touted player, but knew he had to bust his ass to get better. he has improved greatly in each of his seasons at charlotte, and has decided to stay for his senior year to improve all aspects of his game. he will end up being a solid pf/sf in the NBA in a couple years.

USA U21 Men Cruise Past China 117-50

The USA Men's U21 squad opened 2005 FIBA U21 World Championship play by running away with a 117-50 victory over China.11 players scored no less than five points apiece, including a game-high 19 from Curtis Withers. Rudy Gay posted 18, Taj Gray and Allan Ray came up with 14 apiece, Rajon Rondo tossed in 11 and J.J. Redick scored 10 points. The U.S. fell one point shy of tying its largest win margin in U21 Worlds play, however, it eclipsed the former 3-pointers made and attempted marks after making 14-of-31 on the night

The 2005 USA U21 World Championship Team (2-0) remained undefeated at the 2005 FIBA U21 World Championship with a hard-earned 103-83 victory over Lithuania (1-1) on Saturday evening in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Leading a balanced scoring attack that saw every member score were Rajon Rondo (Kentucky / Louisville, Ky.) and Marcus Williams (Connecticut / Los Angeles, Calif.), who posted 17 points apiece.

Next up for the United States is Puerto Rico (1-1), which put away Slovenia (1-1) 71-50 this evening. The squads will tip-off Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. (all times EDT).

NOTE: The box score from the USA vs. China game was incorrect. Terrence Roberts and Curtis Withers were credited for a 3-pointer each that were actually made by Justin Gray and J.J. Redick. The box score and game story have been adjusted accordingly.

    Justin Gray - 21 Minutes; 4-8 FGs; 4-8 3-pt FGs; 0-0 FTs; 12 Points; 2 Offensive, 5 Defensive, 7 Rebounds; 3 Fouls, 0 Assists; 2 Turnovers; 0 Blocks; 3 Steals
    Curtis Withers - 20 Minutes, 3-5 FGs; 0-0 3-pt FGs; 3-4 FTs; 9 Points; 0 Offensive, 4 Defensive, 4 Rebounds; 4 Fouls; 2 Assists; 1 Turnover; 0 Blocks; 2 Steals
    J.J. Redick - 17 Minutes; 1-5 FGs; 0-4 3-pt FGs; 0-0 FTs; 2 Points; 0 Offensive, 1 Defensive, 1 Rebound; 2 Fouls; 1 Assist; 1 Turnover, 0 Blocks; 2 Steals

There is only one champion at the end, so every other team must suck.
