He's 30. Time to cut him and move on. I hate the idea of carrying the dead money, but that's better than having the most expensive #3 RB in NFL history, especially if you're serious about developing Barner into something.

Ultimately I think he ends up staying another year just thought it was interesting. He's 30 down side of his career. But like pres said, it's not worth it to trade hm.

Presidence was saying that it's not possible to trade him because that would incur such a large cap hit that it can't be done. You can release him by making him a June 1st cut and thus move some of the dead cap hit into 2014, but I don't see why they should. He'll play one more season and either restructure or get cut then.

    Exactly.

Basically the team would have to clear an extra 5 mil or so right now and they would still need to sign rooks and have room for in season injury replacements

I do not trust Stewart's wheels very much if at all, we don't get a windfall financially from cutting DW (who is still effective). Am I missing something? Why do we want him to be released?

The team sounds serious about finding a role for Barner as soon as possible, and it would be hard to do that with DeAngelo still on the roster. Plus last year was the only year Stewart missed a significant amount of games - he's not as injury prone as we think. Stewart, Tolbert, Cam, DeAngelo, Barner...there's only one football.

Regardless of what we think, "right now he's on the roster" is sort of like your girlfriend telling you she "needs space". The ending is inevitable.

Yeah, I think women would actually be good GMs because they're outstanding at bullshit. They might start sleeping will all of the players, but I guess you can't have a perfect system.

Sleeping with the players is a risk, keeping the Clausens of the world around so they have a go to gay friend is even worse.
