And no this isn't to brag about Carolina. Its actually about Miami. I know its WAY WAY early, but did anyone expect them to even be above Maryland, FSU, and State?

I didn't see the game yesterday but I saw them agaainst Ga Tech and I thought Miami looked pretty solid in that game. They are much better than people give them creidt for.

Now that they are in the ACC there is no reason why they can't keep pulling in athletes to build a basketball power much like they have in football.

As for State - it is past comical to the point of pitiful to read the meltdown comments on the PackPride board. It seems that every fan has totally written of the b-ball season after this third loss in a row. Hard to believe just two weeks ago - maybe three they were in the Top Ten.

As a State fan, it was hard for me to believe we were even in the top 10 to begin with. I think a lot of the fans are having a meltdown on the boards because they are just frustrated. This team wasn't supposed to be a big-time powerhouse, but they are underachieving. And couple that with players publicly questioning their role on the team and current philosophy, it's making the fans question the coaching more and more. If anyone saw the final play that State ran yesterday it seems clear that it was a bad coaching move. However, we dont know for sure since we weren't in the huddle but with the players questioning it, it makes you wonder.
I'm also sick of players coming out saying stuff about the coach and team to the press. That stuff should be addressed to the coach and stay within the team unless Sendek allows it to be let out.

State will be mediocre as long as Sendek is coach. Not to mention the fact that his style is less than entertaining.

generally speaking, Sendek is damn near a genius. 3 losses in a row, he'll learn from the mistakes. They've been made, and he learned from Pitino, it just takes a few mistakes to learn. I think after these nagging injuries, Brackman steps up, State will turn it around. They did last year, and they'll do it again this year. They play the games for a reason.

Isn't that pretty much the story of NC State b-ball?

Not, not in the least. Remember last year when they were picked to finish like 5th or 6th in the ACC and finished in 2nd place.

Pretty much every NC State team in the last 25 years that was supposed to be really good underachieved though - that was my point.
