yep. for me, any movie that I have seen 20-30 times, and it still entertains me. any movie that I still use quotes from, years after the movie has been out. usually these movies are brainless comedies that make me laugh. Friday,Fletch, Stripes, etc..

if not a funny movie, a movie with many good scenes , that you can catch and are always good. Pulp Fiction is a good example. there are too many...

I think a movie needs a following of a large group to be a cult classic. Like Rocky Horror Picture Show or Star Wars.

Yeah I think Rocky Horror Picture Show would follow under as Cult Classics.

Not sure if Stars Wars would or not, almost too mainstream.

Was talking with a friend earlier about this, and would "A" movies be able to be considered Cult classics.

Little box office success, but a huge rental demand over time. And transvestites.

well the term "cult classic" has seemed to lose a little meaning recently. Some people even say stuff like Office Space and Napeoloen Dynamite are cult classics.

I guess not sure if they are as of today, but are the type of movies that would be at some point and time.

I would say that initially it would not have box office success but would grow in popularity by word of mouth.

Office Space, going on memory, bombed in the theater then exploded on word of mouth strength in secondary markets. It's still being quoted everywhere I go. I'd call it a cult classic.
