    The cubs are reportedly going after Carl Crawford. EXCELLENT move for the cubbies. They need a legit center fielder. I will probably get chastised for this comment, but I actually like crawford better than andruw jones.

    Of course Crawford is better than Andruw. A LOT better. But I don't think the Cubs have what it takes to get him given that he's popular in Tampa and signed to a reasonable contract. Chicago has Felix Pie anyway.

    Pie is a good player with fantastic speed, but I would love to see crawford in a Cubs uniform in 2008.

    I don't think that signing crawford would necessarily take them out of the arod deal. the cubs have a lot of money, right up there with the yankees and boston. But, the Cubs need a CF before they need A-Rod. They have a good 3rd baseman in Ramirez.
