Cubs close to signing Jason Schmidt?

    Nov 28 - According to The San Francisco Chronicle, the Cubs have offered free-agent starter Jason Schmidt a three-year deal worth $44 million.

    Schmidt and Zambrono (sp) would be a nice 1-2 punch

    good, he's the only pitcher from San Fran last year to give the Dodgers trouble

    I've always liked Schmitt. Too damned bad he's going to the Cubs. Go anywhere but the Cubs, they suck because they are the Cubs.
