    Melina was spotted by an agent from William Morris and won the role of Eleni Andros Cooper for four years on the daytime soap opera The Guiding Light, earning her two Emmy nominations.

    The character of Eleni Cooper was special to Melina, as Eleni was Greek, and her time on that soap opera garnered her a strong fan following. To this day, fans still remember her character.

    I never said they were on the same channel, just that they came on one after the other. This was like 10 years ago when days was on at 1pm and Guiding Light was just after or before it.

    When she was on stage accepting the Emmy or People's choice award, she said that is was a good weekend. CSI won and so the the CAROLINA PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
