Anyone got a system capable of handling Crysis? A buddy of mine just built a new system with a GeForce 8800GTX 320mb and can't get more than 20 FPS at medium details on the demo. I just order up a new box with the brand new 8800 GT, 4 Gigs of Corsair XMX low latency ram, Core 2 Duo 6750 2.66ghz processor, and a DFI X38 MOBO. I hope to get somewhere near 40-50 fps after a bit of overclocking when the game comes out. Loved Farcry, hope this one's better. BTW...I heard that even folks running 8800 GTXs in SLI are having a hard time getting it to run smoothly at max detail. This game is a beast!

it will die because of that too. Stupid to build a game that today's top hardware has trouble running.

Keep in mind that you don't have to run it at max settings. It's designed to be the most impressive visual experience ever, and from the screenshots I'd say it has a decent shot, but anyone with a good set-up should be able to at least play it.

While games always push for newer hardware, I agree that it's stupid for companies to push it that much. A lot of gaming companies kill themselves by doing so.

Remember Farcry? It was the same way...6800 GTs were crying at max res...the videocard market always catches up. They have to keep pushing the envelope if they want to remain competitive with the console market.

I plan on running it near maxon a 20" widescreen, or as best I can. Loved Farcry...this should be even better.

Shit! Built up the new box and downloaded the demo. Damn thing won't run clean at my native resolution (1680x1050). Looks like I'm gonna have to slap another couple of gigs of ram in and begin to overclock.

I played it at medium settings (built my rig last year), it ran fine, and is a sick game.

Got the full version. Runs great at 1680x1050 and very high detail. Much better than the demo...

My only beef is with the gameplay itself. You have to shoot any enemy with at least three shots to kill them...many take more than that. Head shots aren't the answer either...just have to waste bullets on everyone you encounter. Sure is purty though...
