    Profootballtalk states the Steelers hope to get a 3rd rounder for him, but would likely settle for a 4th.

    Or, maybe he'll just get axed and we can sign him cheap.

    Wait and see what is offered. If he's getting cut we can pick him up, but if there are offers then we should throw a 4th or 3rd round pick for him. I'd rather have Kordell for a 3rd or 4th round pick than a rookie(Banks or Gesser).

    No doubt. The problem is Crydell's $6.3 million salary. Fuck that shit, man.

    Can Stewart actually LEAD this team????

    He has never struck me as the genuinely confident leader type. Stewart did “give the impression” that he’s gotten better at protecting the ball when Maddox went down though. However, can he be disciplined enough not to bolt and make the reads, and accurate enough to make the throws in our offense? I have always just thought of him as a flashy KR/WR (who occasionally breaks the reverse) who has REALLY vivid dreams of being a NFL QB. Somebody please convince me that if we get him it won’t become our nightmare.

    It won't become our nightmare if we get him for the price that he warrants - a Tommy Maddox type deal. He's a big risk, and deserves to be paid as such. Not $6 million.

    Plus, if we grab him cheap, nobody's gonna bitch when he gets benched for Peete. Or whoever else is on the roster.

    We need more than one QB, whoever we sign. I wouldn't mind Crydell/Peete/Rookie.

    I don;t prefer it, but wouldn't mind. And we wouldn't be risking a high pick on a qb. Rookie qb's tend to have a big bust percentage, and they eat up cap space. I'd rather take a WR, RB, OT, G, CB with that pick.

    But hey, if we get Palmer or LEftwich - that's fun too.

    Honestly...

    I wish we'd pick 2 WR, and a RB with the first three, picking up QBs in FA. Don't matter who the dang QB is without weapons at his disposal. And we are sorely lacking in that area.

    I wouldn't take him unless he was cut. And I doubt that until June to be honest.
