How many of you use credit cards to pay for most everything you buy? Which one do you have? Which is best?

A debit card is best. Do not use credit cards, they are evil.

Yeah, I want to know which is best. I've been using debit cards for years. I want to use the credit card and pay the bill every month. Earn cashback for puchases, etc.

Depends on what you want. However, if you carry a balance each month, no rewards card is a good deal.

Parents have done that for years. They charge EVERYTHING, then pay it off at the end of the year. They charged my tuition to college! End of the year they get some bonus based on spending.

I tried to do that. Was succesful for about a year...then I started carrying a little balance...then it grew and grew. Had to stop.

I have a credit card question. I normally wait until I have cash saved up before I make a major purchase but I've had a few emergencies that I've had to charge plane tickets-hotels ect on the card. I only have the one card and I've always paid on time, never been late etc and I pay 100 dollars a month towards my balance and it never seems to make a dent. The interest rate is like 12% I think. I have had the card for about 7 years and want to get this paid off and be done with it. What should I do?

I've got a GM Mastercard............it puts money back towards the purchase of a new car. I had $1500 of "saved" points or whatever you want to call it last year when I bought my car. Then when I "cashed" that in towards my car I found out they were giving a bonus for the particular car I was getting that saved me anouther $1500.

My parents put ALL their expenses (food, gas etc.) on their Discover card and pay it off in full every month. I don't have any numbers to quote you but I know my dad gets cash back checks from them.

Cut it up and then make as large a payment as you can afford to each month on it.
