Off topic is not sniping. Your comment is. You haven't given anything of substance, other than your opinion to call my logic false, so until you can bring some intelligence to the subject, just stay away.

Why Sly? Everyone who disagrees with you is "unintelligent" and "should stay away", no matter how much detail or personal knowledge they bring.

I have to say, I've never seen you so scared. Your personality with your back to the wall is ... interesting.

I have had many debates with intelligent people in this forum that can argue intelligently. The simple fact is, you don't seem to be able to.

Scared? Not in the least. Why should I be when the best you can bring is a thud smiley and false quote.

The line of australopithecines is evidence of macro evolution, and micro evolution leads to macro evolution.

Ah, I see. So if you have a series of mousetraps in various stages of assembly, you wouldn't consider them related even though they show a clear progression? :supergrin

Furthermore, your article didn't say anything like my article, so I don't have a clue what you're talking about, but that seems to be the case for most people around here regarding you.

Yet your precioust little Sahelanthropus tchadensis completely contradicts what we thought we knew about australopithecines. Your "direct line" is only direct in that it directly contradicts itself.

A mouse trap in any stage of assembly other than complete is not a mousetrap.

It seems that no one involved with this find considers it to be the link.

Not at all. You don't find any actual scientists (for fossils it's usually paleoanthropologists) who say so. Tchadensis has features various common features with apes that do not appear, or at least are reduced in the subsequent line of australopithecines. What is perhaps surprising and therefore misleading about tchadensis is its relatively small size.

    vpkozel:
It is true that no one consideres tchadensis to be the "end all, be all, answer everything" solution. Some paleoanthropologists view it as a predecessor of the australopithecines based on its features, while some think it could be part of another line. But it is further evidence of the evolutionary progression from a common ape/human ancestor to modern apes and modern humans.

Evolution is not at odds with ID. That's the whole point.
