Lytle may fit well for what we're looking for. He's got arm comparable to Weinke, quick release (quickest in '99's camp anyway...no one believed me that this guy was NFL quality when I came back from a few practices), and has a game's experience, a game I was content with by the end.

Kind of a neat story, too. The guy barely made the roster last camp.

HOw much is he getting paid? A few hundred k?

Man I'm getting pumped. Things are gonna start happening....

The fact that Lytle is a lefty, would that have any bearing on his status? I mean, wouldn't the right tackle then be critical vs. a left tackle for a right-hander? (to defend QB blind side).

    Quote from article...

"Craig, a fan favorite throughout his time with the team, began last year as the backup to Chris Weinke."

I think they were right, A FAN favorite as in singular.

Question about the article. Why would a team have to give up a first round pick for Nesbit and only a 4th round for Navies?

Navies hasn't really done crap but get hurt. Nesbit has been a starter for how many in a row?, and has shown vast improvement over the past couple of years.

Also - Nobody is gonna give a first rounder for Nesbit - which is the point. And if they did - WOO-HOO!

I say good for Nesbit - he just got introduced to the IRS - I hope he invests the remainder wisely.

Oops - I misunderstood the question....

Because of the tender offer on Nesbit - the amount - they'd have to give up a first. They offered a tender that high b/c he was undrafted - any lower and we'd have gotten no picks.

Navies was a fourth round pick - so our RFA tender would have to be compensated by a fourth round pick.

    I think that's right....

Nah man, Craig had fans. The guy would get a standing O for coming onto the field in preseason. Unfortunately, he never warranted any sort of enthusiasm for his actual play in a Carolina uni.
