Any word on a release date for Cradle of Filth's new album "Damnation and a Day?" It was slated for early this year, and I didn't know if Dani's December illness might have pushed the date back.

Yuck. I hate the high pitched screamers. Are they still around?

About to release their first album through Sony. So yeah, alive and twitching.

I say again, does anyone know a current release date for the new album?

    Keep it heavy... :guitar: :bird4:

It's out on March 10th in the UK. Probably a little earlier in the US.

    Sweet.

    TW1GGY:

:lol2: Well, if it's any consolation, I had to work up my tolerance before I could deal with COF. My tastes grew darker and darker over a period of years. It went something like: Metallica -> Pantera -> Type O Negative -> King Diamond -> Dimmu Borgir -> Cradle (skipping quite a few bands, but that's a general guide). Curiosity finally got the best of me with the Midian album, and now I'm addicted to the band. Once I "got used to" the vocals, the brilliant mix of black metal and dark ambient just moved me.

I still favor black metal these days, but I still take breaks with industrial, 80s pop, classical/symphonic, electronica, old country and ever so rarely, old rap or Eminem. One thing's for sure: whatever I like is usually 180 degrees opposed to what's trendy and popular (uh well, with the possible exception of Eminem). I don't plan it that way; it just happens. Ah well... what are you gonna do?

Me and Twig got tired of the useless rap metal coming out and turned to punk. If you are a punk fan, go out and buy Slayer's Undisputed Attitude if you don't have it. I fell in love with it.

You can never go wrong with Pantera. They broke up.:(

Slayer is still kickin. Hope to see a good metal show soon. Not much touring right now.

THANK YOU!! I thought I was the only guy fed up with hip-hop-tainted "rapcore" passed off as Heavy Metal.

I missed seeing Rammstein last year because I had to work. I'm in Maryland, which is very "urban" and has little or no real Metal scene going on, at least that I know of. Fortunately for me there are decent stores around that carry a dedicated Heavy Metal section and can special-order pretty much anything they don't already have...
