I lost my Madden 2k2 disc a few weeks ago and just this weeke spent $10 on 2k1 to hold me over. It pisses me off to see Seifert as the coach of my beloved panthers, and have a shitty playbook. Must have 2k3. Must have 2k3. Must have 2k3.

Surely they've cut and wrapped the CDs already which means they have already chosen our final 53 man roster and we haven't even played a preseason game yet. It always annoys me when I want to play a quick game with a guest and I have to exchange Jeff Lewis with Chris Weinke. You'd think they'd sell roster updates on memory cards or something. If they do what they did last year, Will Witherspoon probably won't even be an option.

Will the first person that gets Madden 2003 post the roster?

I have a contact that works for a company in Cali called Maxis. They do some of the programing and design for the Madden games. Haven't talked to him in a while but I used to get the game weeks before it hit the shelves and VERY cheap. He used to post on the old board from time to time as Diehard9er.
I'll drop him a line and see if I can get the Panthers set roster for the game.
Hell, I think I'll just have him send me one!

If Im not mistaken I believe that Madden 2003 will support online play and will have updated rosters available online as well....

That would be sweet. 2002 left out too many players.

As long as it has Steve Smith. I can't believe they left him out last year.

This was posted on another board about Madden 2k3. I have ordered one and I hope it is better than 2002.

Anyone else play Madden? The latest is released next month, and thankfully, for the first time the PC version will not be a rehash of the previous years console release. Madden 2003 will feature all the same options, and game engine, as the PS2 and Xbox versions, and some other cool things like:

    - the custom playbook is back! I loved that thing, and was sad to see it absent from 2002.

    - its got mini-camps rather than the boring old practice, where you're given specific roles and tasks to accomplish. Should make running the game, especially the D, which I always suck at (I usually win....with scores of around 55-45 ), a lot easier.

    - Generally more realistic action, especially on D. There's no more of those ridiculous times when Ron Dayne breaks 10 tacklers..this time there's gang tackles which bring down the man hard. There's also stationary catches, which is cool, as well as hits on guys who don't have the ball, making your Qb passing a little bit more challenging.

I don't wanna sound like an EA Sports commercial, but the news that for once PC players aren't getting shafted has me quite happy. Fingers crossed they remember how to implement a running game
apparantly there'll be constant patches which update the rosters throughout the season. This will correct player movements post-release, as well as continually updating the stats and abilities of players, especially rookies. So if Carr has an awesome first few games, his stats will go up to reflect that.

Is this being released for the original Playstation or have they ceased making games for that unit?
If not, I am getting a new PC with more space on it!
