That is nice. King crab beats the hell out of snow crab. Actually, I'd love a good paella recipe.

Chicken Dumplings - (they'll love em)

Boil boneless skinless breasts til very tender
Throw in a chicken bouillon (if you aren't using the fat and skin you need the taste in the broth)
Take the chicken out and mix a little cold water and couple of spoons full of flour in a little bowl.
Thicken the broth with the flour mixture
Put the chicken back in and make biscuit dough (you can use bisquick because you are a yankee)
Drop the dumplings (spoon fulls of dough) on top of the chicken/gravy and put a lid on it for 15-20 minutes simmering on low.
Add fresh simmered peas when it's all done.

    Mmmmmm

You can spice it up then. Choose your pepper.

They're also good with that cheap vinegar/pepper sauce afterwards, or even tabasco.

They're just good. Don't skip the shallots. Or bacon.

As a side dish, thin slice some potatoes (maybe 1/8 inch or so) and layer them in a pan with onions and then put bacon on top. Add a little water or stock to the bottom and cover with tinfoil. Cook at 375 or so for about 35-45 minutes (it really depends on the thinkness of the potatoes though).

    1 ham slice...bone in
    1 head of cabbage, quartered
1 large russett potato peeled and cut into large pieces
1-2 carrots peeled and cut roughly (large pieces)
    1 can of chicken broth
    water to fill

throw all this in the crock pot, cover and get ready for one of the best meals you've ever had. serves 2.

This is great! I'm going to print out this whole thread once we get a few more recipes.

Here's another thing I don't get about cooking/foodbuying. Unless it's a nice sale, which to me is $1.99 a pound, why they hell buy boneless skinless breasts? I still end up trimming the gristle and tendons out of them anyway. It's not that much harder to yank the skin and bones out of the bone in breasts that you can sometimes find for $.99 a pound. 3 or 4 bucks a pound for boneless skinless is crazy to me.

I was always taught that Chicken Fried Steak and Country Fried Steak were 2 different things.

Maybe it's just the different ways I learned to cook each one.

because dumb fucks like DaveW dont know any better and are a danger to themselves and others when handling any kind of knife.

buy the whole bird, cut what you want off it, chuck what's left in a pot with carrot, onion & celery, a bay leaf and a few peppercorns...cover with water and you're half way to a great soup.

I thought ChickenFS was served without gravy and CountryFS was served with gravy.
