Contract talks have begun

I have noticed with Fox you hear so and so has been signed, and with Seifert, you would always hear so and so visited for a workout.

Plus you have to figure a new staff has to evaluate the team to determine the greatest need. It's not just all about the first round, it's about all eight rounds.

I wasstarting to think we might go Jammer, but I'm happy about Peppers. I won't get to excited until it's done though. You still never know.

One question though, are the Panthers allowed to discuss contracts with multiple players before they decide on the pick?

 

I believe so. It's not like they could talk with Rohan Davie or anything, but they could likely talk to anyone worth taking that high.

 

yes. they can have open negotiations with both parties. the bengals did it a couple of years ago with akili smith and ... ol whatshisname.

my thinking on this is that if it's peppers, then fine. let's move on and get no. 2 in here. i REALLY hope that this staff can develop talent, becuse these guys (er, peppers) need teachers and guidance.

I know it's pretty much been posted, but ESPN is stating we will DEFINITELY take Peppers with our #2. Peppers to be drafted

 

pasq is saying we've already informed him we're taking him. but he did say that fox and hurney still needed to call sandy(pasq didn't know who sandy was), and possibly fly him in for some last minute advice.

 

I agree 100% - (Thats why I once had a dream that we would trade away that #2 pick)...
