HP, yep. The seats are better through the Bowl site instead of TicketMaster. School ticket allotments are blocked out, then the CTB site has the next best, then TicketMaster.

Did anyone come out to the Pep Rally last year? Great party and even though I was working, I still enjoyed it.

It wouldn't hurt. Those folks bought over 40K tickets last year. Great fans.

I actually hoping it's VT. It would give me an excuse to (maybe) come to Charlotte.

Clemson/VaTech would be good . . . Ga Tech/Va Tech would work also . . . . Not sure if a lot of Syracuse folks would come down here, but I guess you have to have them here once to see how well they would travel :) . . .

SportsNC: Wouldn't it better once this conference realignment takes place iff a ACC/SEC pairing took place vs. BigEast? I mean, I'm not sure if the remaining teams in the new Big East would travel well/make for a good matchup on paper (Pitt or Syracuse might be your best football schools, UConn will be traveling for bowl games for the first time if their teams). I'm sure many SEC schools would enjoy being in Charlotte for the weekend I would think . .

    Re: Re: Continental Tire Bowl

From my understanding, (and some of the original sales material) the SEC was supposed to be the partner conference for the CTB but it fell through and Big East took the spot. That was the plan and depending on the future of the CTB, the SEC may resurface.

As of now, the stadium, title sponsor, and conferences are locked in for 1 more year following this year. All of this ties in to the new TV deals, BCS/playoff deals, Conference realignments, etc. The big jewel everyone seems to be positioning for is the ACC Championship game which most likely will begin following the '05 season.

Could the CTB become the ACC Championship game? Could it become a prelim site for some form of playoffs? Could it be back with ACC vs SEC? I sure as hell wish I knew. :)
