2 days removed, and I feel better about our chances with Peete than with Weinke.

Best I can say is confidence - change. Weinke was the guy that led us to 1-15. That's an awful pill. While he didn't play awful in preseason, he didn't show that he'd changed, either.

Peete's different. Maybe that little spark of difference will lend a bit of confidence, something our team seems to have bee lacking for quite some time.

Imma sit back here with these rose colored glasses, and enjoy 9/3/2002, which is a BEAUTIFUL day.

To me Fox can't stand the QB turnovers. Peete may not turn it over - but I don't want him having to bring us from behind in the fourth. I will pull for whichever QB is out there - but I still think Weinke is better than Peete. Oh well - the Panthers should have a descent chance in this game even with Peete back there. We might have to outscore them with FGs and SP Teams but so be it.

I have some amount of complacency with it. I want to see how it works out, and do think that Peete is probably the best player to make adjustments with against the blitz. If he tanks, we're screwed. I'm going on the hope we'll be ready for their D.

I have confidence that moose is going to have an agrivated hamstring soon. And Lamarr Smith will break down.

Peete has a god awful TD to INT ratio. GOD AWFUL.

That's why the only positive thing I can get is that he ISN'T the guy that hasn't won in a year. And that's actually pretty good.

Think we'd have gone 1-15 with Jeff Lewis? Just curious. I'm just wondering why I got upset about Weinke getting demoted. It's not like he played well, at least consistently. Sounds like Lewis.

We didn't go 1-15 because of Weinke (literally, as well - he didn't start a game, Lytle had one), and we wouldn't have gone 1-15 because of Lewis. The defense sucked major ass. The whole team played lifeless. That's not because of Weinke.

All the same, if the team's playing spirited ball and he's not, yeah, yank him. But he's not the scapegoat for last year.

Not the scapegoat, nor the cause. But he was the 'leader' of that team.

A change is good, and I like it that Peete has faced the 3-4.

that's helping me, the idea of adjusting to a defense no one has seen in a few years (Nolan has been coaching receivers - didn't he coach the Jets when Henning was OC?)

I have a theory I'm working on here as to what is going on but I first want to finish reading everyone else's thoughts before I comment. I've been out of the loop for the last 3-4 days and I have to say I'm a bit stunned. My "first blush" opinion and "teaser" as to what my theory entails is around our 3rd string guy, Mr Fasani. More later if this angle hasn't already been covered.

it probably hasn't been covered much. Most of it relies around and is based upon the usual Fasani buzz. I'd say that only because Fasani hasn't been mentioned at all by this team, and continues to be 3rd string.
