uptown is overbuilt already for the amenities. There's one real grocery store and several years away from any decent shopping. I want a house. In the country. With lots of land and no neighbors. I want to be able to work and play without interruptions. I don't care where that is anymore. I can expand my business to cover all of NC or move out of state completely.

This is the time to buy uptown. There's more amenities coming and people who buy now are going to be sitting on a goldmine in a few years, no gay pun intended. But if you like country, you like country. Have you already lived in and enjoyed the kind of place you're talking about wanting? I have the feeling that for some people who haven't, the reality isn't the same as the fantasy once they get there.

I grew up in that place sadic. And if my parents weren't there with my sister's trailer in the backyard, I'd take it in a heart beat.

You should trick them into thinking the place is haunted so they'll leave. I've seen it done.

wow....hadn't seen this one in a while.

Here's the breakdown on what happened.

I got two offers. Asking price of 121,900. Sold it for $123,900. Paid $2700 in closing costs (which seemed really high to me, but she did give me more than asking.) Paid off the principal of $112k. walked out of the closing with $114.90 in my pocket. Now, my real estate agent was under the assumption that I should have made close to $1300 at closing. He said he couldnt figure out where he had gone wrong.

    The lessons I learned:

Do not believe anything a developer tells you. Find out who the person is selling you your condo and what their previous histories are. Talk to the other owners especially when the developer tells you not one single person has complained about noise, landscaping, crime, etc. Developers lie.

Do not use a realtor based on a friend's advice. Especially when the realtor is gay, black, or otherwise related to you. Especially when that realtor doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. And moreso, when that realtor works for Re/MAX Classic Properties.

Do your own research for any property. Find out who owned it, how much they paid, what the tax assessments are. Do not trust a realtor to be honest even when he/she is representing you. Do not allow the realtor to agree to anything that you haven't put your approval on.

DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS FOR SHIT. THEY ARE WORTHLESS SCUM.

I SECOND THE MOTION - 6-8 weeks of delays on a 6 week project because of them, cost 50% over quote, horrible attention to detail, CONSTANTLY lied to when the schedule started to slip. They SUCK.
