Rebuilds the master boot record. Might be the problem. Might not.

PM me your address and get me your computer's model number. Is it XP Home or Pro? I can get you the disks and files you need.

WTH am I gonna do??? Photoshop it working???? :biggrinjester:

VA, if it's not detecting the HD at all, it sounds to me like a hardware issue. My guess is a dead HD. Small chance it's a motherboard issue, but unlikely. Any chance it's still under warranty? If so, call core support and they'll diagnose the problem. At that point it depends on your warranty whether you'll need to send it back to them or if a tech will come out and replace it for you.

If it's not under warranty, replacing the HD is still going to be considerably cheaper than replacing the entire laptop. How difficult it is to replace the HD, assuming you have to do it yourself, depends on the model. Some are quite simple, while others are a bit more involved.
