I'm watching his film during lunch. The problem I see is that he doesn't have a clearly defined position. At UCF he was an edge player. He'll be too small for that in the NFL. I do see a lot of very positive traits that should translate to a special teams career. He's completely fearless and great in pursuit, and he's good at engaging despite his defect. There's probably a place for him on an NFL roster, but this might just be a case of a guy who's better in shorts.

I've watched two of his games and that's not quite the impression I have yet. He actually reminds me a little bit of Jeremy Cash, maybe a little more explosive.

 

If Jim Abbott could pitch in the Majors then this guy should have plenty of suitors.

 

He's talented, I'm just more concerned about what position he plays in the NFL. A creative coordinator might be able to do some things with him as a rusher. It's hard seeing him being a standard, 3 down LB though.

 

Griffin will be an impact player at the next level, and not just on ST's. He CAN cover with that stubpendage. Only a few other top OLB prospects have more pics and more pbu's in the last two seasons.
He's not too small to line up and rush, if Elvis Dumervil can make a career of it so can he. Coming out of Louisville Elvis was only 13 lbs heavier than Griffin and was (still is) 3 inches shorter. It will just take some creativity from some tricky fucker like Seattle Pete to move him around and get him in the right packages. As far as not being able to tackle or shed, i think he only had 4 would-be tackles broken and I've seen him break off blocks better than most with more hands and less determination.
The guy has unworldly instincts, and he gets to the ball extremely fast. When he gets to the ball he is as disruptive and violent as anyone I've seen in a long while. No, he's not Lawrence Taylor but who is
If he is still around by 120 overall I bet the Seacocks take him

 

Yeah, he can rush from what I've seen so far. He's not going to be rushing from a 3 point stance though. He is too small for that. He would be more of a sub package "joker" LB. He's a very explosive player and you can probably scheme up some free runs at the QB.
