That baseball is a regional sport, and should be programmed accordingly.

After that 1am+ fiasco last night, I gotta agree. That thing should have started a couple of hours earlier. West Coasters dont care enough to cater the start time primarily to them.

BTW, I probably spelled that butthead's name wrong. Oh well.

sorry guys....but you are flat out wrong.

In Charlotte--where the White Sox have an affiliation with the Triple A Knights, the game pulled a 5 rating at 2 am.

The affiliation isn't something that casual fans attach to. Baseball fans are baseball fans. If they can stay up that late, and still get up for work the next day, they will watch.

thats the thing mike. i am a HUGE baseball fan but the hell with staying up that late. i think the targeted age group (somewhere between 18-28 maybe?) is more important than any regional consideration here. most youngsters are never allowed to watch these games because of the late hours and they're the future right? i dont recall ever missing a world series game due to late hours when i was young. how about us guys in the eastern half of the country who must get up early? 8:45 starting times on a week night is hard to argue for when you live in the REAL world.

saw a poll, only 30% of those that started watching saw the end

It's all over the media today that ratings are down and people complaining about the time.

VI--I totally agree these games start way too late. I, like you, never missed a WS game as a kid, because they started at a reasonable hour. Then again, I grew up in central time zone.

I stayed up late to watch, and woke up 3.5 hours later to get the kids ready for school....it hurt, but the win made it worth it.
