UNC is overrated, hopefully this weekend will prove how overrated they are while waking up the team so hopefully they'll make another run in Omaha.

BOSTON -- It appears the Daniel Bard Era is about to begin.

The Red Sox have not made an official announcement, but Bard is expected to be at Fenway Park Sunday night for the series finale against the Rays.

The 23-year-old right-hander was original selected as the Sox' second pick of the first round (28th overall) in the 2006 draft.

This highly-touted prospect has been outstanding for the PawSox this season. He's 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA and 6 saves in 11 games. He has struck out 29 batters in 16 innings and can easily reach 100 MPH on the radar gun. He's been the closer for Pawtucket.

The Red Sox will not only have to take someone off the 25-man roster in Boston to make room for Bard, but they'll also have to make a move to put Bard on the 40-man roster.

Franchise, I saw that. Good for Daniel. Remember seeing him in high school.

BTW, it's very cool to see Elon in some top 25 polls. lclefty played high school ball with the catcher at Elon. Awesome kid and a terrific catcher!

I normally keep up with them enough to see how Dallas is doing. I hope to see his name in the upcoming draft. Dallas is an awesome kid and the entire family is just good people.

Dadgum busy spring hasn't allowed me much time to watch any baseball (HS or college) this year.

Daniel Bard made his major league debut two nights ago. Pitched 2 innings with 1 Hit, 1 Walk, and 1 K.

Carolina lost to BC and probably the chances at hosting this year. Maybe that's a good thing?

    ACC tourn.

all 8 teams are now determined: GT, UNC, FSU, Miami, BC, Duke, Clemson, and Va.

Staying at home are NCSU, Md., VT, and WF.

Looks like the ACC will send a bunch to regionals as well.
