Got a heads up today that we "might" be scouting this guy tonight in the Orange bowl as a potential second day pick. I don't know squat about him yet but here's a link with the basics

Cole's our type lineman. If it's where I think he'll go (4th) I'm fine with it.

    Mags?

You know anything about this guy? I was kind of caught off guard and really don't know much about him.

He looks like a baby Gilbert, even wearing his number.

Good looking player with nice size. He made some plays last night too. He would work if he lasts a while on the board. Good DTs rarely stay hidden for long however. You can bet someone else has noticed this guy.

Cole is about 6'2 and around 300 pounds, gets off the ball quick and doesn't waste time hand fighting with blockers. He's strong and plays with a very solid base, has a turbo motor.
For all intents and purposes, he's an over achiever who should translate into a good, but not great Pro IMO.
Depending on those that come out early, I'd have him as high as the late 3rd, but more likely a mid-fourth round pick.

basically, not unlike Buckner. Like McFly said, he's basically a penetrator - he could probably deal with a two gap but is best getting upfield, somewhat smart, decent depth. 4th would be my target and that's about as soon as I'd take a DL anyway. Not many scouts online have much about Cole, and I didn't watch him that much this year.

I am not nearly as deep in my draft research as I was at this point last year. Just going on what I have seen of him the last few years.
He almost left Iowa halfway through his freshman year, he was really homesick. But the staff and teammates talked him into staying, OH, and his parents told him he wasn't coming home.
Cole actually came back as a soph and started to develop into a team leader on and off the field. He's probably one of the most respected players on the team next to Banks.
All accounts are that he is a calss act and an active member of many off the field activities, he visits kids at the UofI Hospital on a regular basis.
I don't know what the analyst will say, but what I see is that he is a solid young man in all aspects of life. As for FB, he'll be playing on Sundays.
