    CCU Football Opener Sold Out
From the Coastal Carolina Sports Information Office
    August 14, 2003

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University's inaugural football game against Newberry, Sept. 6, has been sold out. Of the 6,408 seats in the stadium, the only seats remaining are the student tickets. Current Coastal students can pick up their game ticket at CCU's Brooks Stadium Ticket Office starting on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 9 a.m.

"We really appreciate the support that the community has provided for our football program," Athletics Director Warren Koegel said. "The excitement has continued to grow throughout the past several months, culminating in this happening. We look forward to the continued support of our fans. We want people to know that tickets are still available for the remaining four games, as we want all of the games to be as exciting as the opener."

i know 2 starters on that team:

    ss willie moore
    pk rob williams

coastal will struggle at first but in a few years they'll be a very respectable team i think. playing 10 minutes from myrtle beach won't exactly hurt their recruiting in-state. i mean, if you're gonna play 1-aa football and you're offered by citadel, furman, app state, and wofford....i don't know about you but i'm going to live at the beach!

I'm thinkin that former West Rowan Falcon Ben Hampton is on the team down there. He's got game.
