Greece upset the USA last night.

So much for K being the saviour of United States basketball. That was a flawed idea to begin with.

I actually kind of liked this US team. I missed the last game but had watched all the rest.

Absolutely, Coach K is a flake and a hack! He's gotten lucky with those fags he's coached so far at Duke, unfortunately he's drug the National Program down with him, I guess cussing up a storm didn't help him, and I'm sure he's used to getting ALL the calls, and wasn't used to a "fair" game. The U.S. should've got Brad Brownell from UNCW, now there's a good coach.

Coach K is the best college basketball coach of the modern era. Not his fault that NBA players do not know how to play team ball.

You want to guarantee victory? Stop using allstar teams and take the league champion instead.

Not a bad idea, but you'd have to get the NBAPA to ratify something like that, and it may be hard considering they aren't getting paid much to play in those games.

I've actually thought about that too. It'll never happen. This was phase one, they still have the olympics and the qualifiers. I wouldn't count coach k out yet, but this was definitely a setback. Honestly, it'll be nice to see these high school kids have to go to the college ranks and learn how to play team defense like pick and rolls instead of basically relying on their athleticism in high school and coach praise and all that shit. I thought coach K could coach them up on the pick and rolls but if there's ever been anything that i can remember giving duke lots of trouble it's been picks and back door cuts like princeton type offenses. That overplay is gonna get you killed. That being said, i didn't see the game so i don't know if that was the case or not. And now to be a carowhina fan, "maybe next year."

What is the last league champ that didn't have a foreign player as an integral part?

Did the Heat have a big time foreign player? I do not follow it that closely.

If the pick and roll is what killed the olympic team then why do NBA teams not run more of it? It seems like those guys get over there and are befuddled. There is probalby some league rule against it or something.
