Butler was vastly underseeded. They lost 4 times, only one to a team that didn't make the tournament (@UAB) and haven't lost yet this year.

They've been top 15 almost all season, finished 7th in the RPI and beat Kansas State, Syracuse and Michigan State to get to the title game. It's not like they played cupcakes in the tournament.

If Duke beats Butler they will have earned their title as much as any team ever has. WVU was a borderline 1 seed and Baylor is one of the biggest (and best) teams in the NCAA.

No doubt, this 'road' talk needs to end. No one thought that Kansas' road got difficult at seed 9. WV beat UK and got handled by Duke.

Syracuse was bound to choke, did everyone forget that they lost to a DII school in an exhibition game?

The road is what it was, and for the most part seeding held up in Duke's road. It's pretty much the only bracket that did so.

You'll never get that message across to the "BCS" jock sniffers.

I think Syracuse was the best team in the field, but they were down a player. There were a ton of injuries in this years field. Duke went through an injured Purdue, an injured WVU (down a starter and lost another one in the game) and potentially an injured Butler. But that is a part of the game, and those teams were all still playing very well. If Cuse's big man had come back, I imagine they would still be playing, but that is total conjecture.

Probably not. Butler being in the title game isn't a fluke. Preseason polling of ESPN experts had 3 people calling for butler in the final four, none for Duke. Take that for what it is worth.

That's like saying had Jonny Flynn not gotten injured last year, they would've beat Oklahoma and then beat UNC. That didn't happen though. UNC beat the teams in front of them just like Duke has done this year.
