Wow, that's the most asinine thing I've read in a long time (including message board posts), and I'm a Carolina fan. Heck, if that slug Bobby Knight does manage to pass Dean, I want Coach K to pass him and have the record, at least until Roy can claim it for his own. Coach K may be a mortal enemy (I actually hate State, not Duke), but he's 100% class and is a great ambassador for college basketball.

 

i don't really think brain is serious, but hell, we need some debate in here seeing as the season is over. watching the "real sports" 10th anniversary show the other night, they showed john thompson on the sidelines. and, he was dropping f-bombs, g.d's, the whole book. funny that his mouth was never brought up. and of course, i've never heard coach k cuss during an interview ala roy. face it, coach k is the most recognizable and biggest name in coaching since dean-o. they will show his face 50 times a game to see a reaction from him, what he's coaching, stuff like that. i guarantee you that if roy somehow keeps this up (he won't as this was the best team he'll ever put together at unc) they will show his face more. we know he cusses. if he's gonna cuss bonnie bernstein, you think he doesn't cuss at a bad call? do you think less of tiger words after he busted out the "goddammit" on live tv after his second shot on 18? i've said this before, looking back to high school soccer, i wish my coach would have had the nuts to cuss a ref or two because if you sit there and take their calls they WILL NOT respect you. they assume the quiet ones know nothing of the game or that the bad calls they made were good. and i cuss at work, but i'd know better than if someone stuck a camera in my face to not drop f-bombs and such. but, that's my rant. one day you guys will be happy if all us duke fans can say about your coach is that he cusses too much. he's already getting calls and he's won a title too, he's almost there.

I don't think it was Brain that wrote that article. It was some fat wussy boy from Indiana.

As for Roy not putting together any more strong teams you may not have noticed he has one of the best classes in the nation coming in next year and 17 of the top 20 players from 2006 have UNC on their list. The only three that don't have already verballed to another school. Seeing as he usually had top ten recruiting classes at Kansas every year what makes you think he can't do that at UNC?

Roy will be collecting all the blue chippers he wants as long as he's coaching.

 

He'll get the classes, which is fine, because he has never won with one of them.

 

He won it all with the only players available to him.

 

technically he did it with this year's freshmen class. So that's not exactly true. He added Marvin Williams which looked like the last piece needed to win it all. So in all aspects it took him coming here to win it. Which makes you wrong.... which I enjoy.

 

Winning as much as Duke does creates sore losers like the Michael Moore look a like who wrote that crappy article.

Roy did a good job this year, it is not easy to win it all even if you do have the best talent in the country handed to you by the coach you replaced.
