I admit that Duke played poorly last night, and Caner-Medley was absolutely on fire. It's a weird conference this year. I had a bad feeling after I saw Maryland lose to N.C. State the game before cause Williams has a history of crushing their next opponents much like Duke will do on Saturday. If you think the losses will "pile up" you have to be kidding. Maryland played a decent game with outstanding defense and Duke couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Especially Ewing. I like Dockery running the point and Ewing and Redick on the wings. The team runs their offense a lot better when Dockery is at the point. He's proven much more reliable than i ever thought he would be based on his past two years. This is a really weird conference, so I don't know what will happen the rest of the season, but I liked how everyone was picking Duke to finish in the middle of the pack and they went undefeated almost to the beginning of February. I really can't tell if the ACC is as good as advertised or not. N.C. State and Maryland will have games where they play great and then they have games where they get run out of the gym. Duke's losses will never "pile up" as long as Redick, Ewing, and Williams are in the starting lineup. That's like saying UNC will pile up losses this year, and even the most hopeful Duke fan knows that that won't happen. If you told me that Duke would be 15-1 going into February I'd take that anyday, but it doesn't make the sour taste in my mouth go away from last night. Still haven't figured out Maryland or N.C. State, or Georgia Tech but I think it's a safe bet that Duke, Wake, and UNC will be the top 3 teams in the ACC this year. I think Duke will bounce back, and that game against Wake should be exciting. Duke winning that game could really help out UNC since Wake owns the tie breaker.

This Duke team is not dominant. They are pretty good though. It mostly depends on second tier guys stepping up whether they go far or not. The big three are enough to win most games but to beat the really good teams and go to a final four they need someone to emerge from the second tier guys like Shav, Nelson, Melchioni, Dockery, Mcclure. Melchioni has already stepped up but he will have to keep improving if he is going to be the fourth guy.

you people just don't get it

    dook lost

that's cause for celebration no matter who it was or where it happened.

I'll give credit to dook for doing better this season than I expected. The three player combo of Redick/Williams/Ewing and Melchioni being able to shoot the three along with their defense has carried them through the season much better that I ever thought would happen. So far.

But yeah sockittome - dook was undefeated in the conference until almost February. Big whoop - look at how they got that 5-0 record

Clemson, State, Virgina ( all fighting over last place in the ACC) Miami and FSU - five REAL powerhouses there. The losses are going to start piling up for dook because they still haven't played any of the top teams in conference. UNC twice, Tech twice ( probably with Elder back in the lineup), Wake twice. Those six games plus Maryland at Maryland are 7 of their last 10 conference games.

As for the all mighty Powerbait - exactly how many times must someone "slam" me for graduating from ASU before y'all realize I don't give a shit? Sure am curious to know how many dook fans on this or most other boards actually went to dook. Not that it matters - fans are fans, period.

Its Virginia fucking Tech... if dook doesn't stomp them then the 4 games that follow will be REALLY ugly to the dookies.

Excuse, since there may have only been one or two. If the shoe were on the other foot you would point them out.

    Blahhh, blahhh, blahhhh.
