Okay, I'll give you the CD thing...But I have a question. Would anyone go to a concert to see Rueben? I can't imagine anything more boring then watching a guy stand, sweat, and sing. What is for entertainment? Do you guys really think he's and entertainer and I'm just missing something?

He's got his own band and made his living prior to this as a proffessional musician. So I guess the answer to that question is yes, some people do.

He's not going to bounce around like Mick Jagger or James Brown. But really, what did Sinatra do? Or Barry White? He can have other things there for you to look at. Have we become such a visual audience that we need 12 backup dancers and choreography with every note?

I don't think his voice is suited for the big arenas though. His voice needs good acoustics and a smaller, more intimate setting.

Clay in a few years will probably be playing Vegas. Which is good work, if you can get it.

I didn't like either of them to be honest. I didn't watch too many of the shows, but I did think there were better singers than them.

Yes, I'm aware of where he went. Does that make it newsworthy? I really hate they have to report pages 1a and 2a exclusively on another rehash of Aiken's background and what people that called in think of Aiken. The big guy's name was mentioned five times. In two pages, and none of them longer than the title. He won.

Agree totally with Piper. I'm for music. You can make anything look good on VH1, whether you're fat and black or short, white, and dorky. I neither need nor want choreography, and I prefer the idea of selling a musical idea rather than a visual theme set to a product of music.

I voted I don't give a rats ass... I typically don't watch those type shows. As a matter of fact I had heard niether one of them sing until last night. I didn't even know if one was black or if they were both black.

After I heard them sing without seeing them, my wife had TV on in other room, I said, the Reuban guy - hands down. His voice has character, the other guys voice is nothing that different.

Ruben is more polished, but Clay has more overall talent. Ruben deserved the win because of his consistency, but IMO Clay clearly outperformed him the last couple of weeks...I just think Clay waited too long to step it up.

As for what they will do after the show, Ruben will do well in his Luther Vandross routine, but I question if he will ever find his own style. Every thing he sings just sounds the same; no matter the genre, it sounded the same as the previous week. He also does not have a particularly charismatic personality, in fact, he is actually quite boring when he talks. On the show, he could get away with his big smile and dimples, but now he is going to have to be more engaging to keep people's interest. There is no doubt he will be successful, but I just don't see him making his own mark.

Clay will have to overcome obstacles as well. He is still not particularly comfortable on stage (although he made great strides during the show), and he needs to stay away from those Wayne Newton mannerisms. I also think he needs to find a style he is comfortable with. He just strikes me as someone pretending to have style. He also needs to grow into his voice a bit more. He has a great voice, but sometimes it seemed that he didn't know what to do with it. He's a much more versatile singer than Ruben, but he's going to have to find his niche in order to have long-term success.

However, Kelly Clarkson would have beaten them both. Like her or hate her, she could sing her ass off. As a matter of fact, I think Tamyra Gray could have beaten them both as well (she should have been matched up with Kelly in last years final).

Does anybody else think at best, Clay will have a career in Las Vegas (a la Wayne Newton, who was born in Virginia in case you didn't know :) . . .) and Reuben could become another Luther Vandross or Teddy Pendergrass (i.e. R&B love singer) ? ? ?
