Clarett and Williams won't be NFL players this year.

I didnt read the decision, but just from the snippets in the AP article, it didn't sound like they would have trouble with it even if it had age. Age discrimination only applies to people over 40. The players back the rule because they don't want the extra competition, esp from players drafted for potential more than ability to produce now.

I was one of those people, so I'll confess. But maybe I was just hoping more than anything. They will appeal, but their odds are miniscule. Apparently they go to the full Court of Appeals 1st, and then to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court only hears what it wants to, with a few exceptions like foreign issues, issues between States, where different Courts of Appeal ruled differently, or something like that that I can't remember. Or where they just think the point of law is real important. I can't see this being one of those, given that the Court of Appeals was apparently unanimous.
