All I have is my opinion and my opinion is that the NFLs rule is BS. Oh I guess I all the cash I spent on college was a waste since I spelled absurd incorrectly on a message board :handjob: Thanks for correcting me Sen. McCarthy.

I agree, I went to college, and I don't think I'm being ignorant. Its just a feel. However, the court's reasoning, given apparently what the labor law says, is probably right. And apparently the doctors testimony about injuries to underclassmen who come out early was compelling. However, I still hate it. I don't want non-students in college. I still want kids who think they ought to be paid to GO PRO. I don't think either Clarett or Williams will go back to college next year, even if they can. I bet they play in Canada. Maybe others, WHO DO NOT VALUE THE COLLEGE EDUCATION, or at least any more of it than they already have, will follow them and this charade of many student-atheletes will end.

I do think the NFL's main motive for wanting them in school is so they can limit who they have to scout, and to make sure they have enough film on them. Just a guess.

I agree its the NFL's primary motive and I've never questioned that. My point is that people who are arguing that they are illegally making people follow the NFL's requirements to enter. That's just plain wrong. The NFL's motives may be screwed up, but legally they are right and will continue to win as long as the labor laws aren't changed. They circumvent the "age" issue by wording their requirements the way they do. Whoever wrote that rule was VERY smart, and it seems to me that the players don't hold major issue with it because they have the right to argue that issue each time they negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement.

So wait, could they try and get this in the NBA since the 3-year rule was eventually upheld in the NFL?

Well I hope they do, I'd like to see more players stay, and I'm not a big fan of the NBA anyway.
