    N.C. State basketball coach Sidney Lowe received a commitment today from C.J. Williams, a 6-foot-5 junior guard at Fayetteville Britt High. Williams averaged 12.7 points and 6.5 rebounds during the 2005-2006 season.

    “He can be a great ACC player,” said Britt coach Ike Walker. “He is still growing and still improving, but he can be a great one.” Lowe has received commitments from three seniors — 6-8 forward Tracy Smith of Durham Mount Zion, 6-9 center J.J. Hickson of Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler and 6-5 forward Johnny Thomas of Greensboro Day. From the Class of 2008, in addition to Williams, State also has a commitment from 6-2 point guard Julius Mays of Marion, Ind.
