Again, many of the rules in the old testament regarding food, body modification, and who can be in pools of water with whom had more to do with keeping people alive than any religious reasons. Power over the people. Fear through ignorance and shame.

 

I think I may take this to the rant and rave forum for responses dealing with the practical aspect rather than the religious.

I am against mutilation. However, those that are for it cite health concerns as the main cause. I don't think there's any health concerns. You teach kids to clean their ears, brush their teeth, and wipe their butts. We're such an uptight society that we'd prefer to mutilate boys in order to avoid having to acknowledge the existence of their dicks.

 

I decided to leave him intact. I could not think of a good reason to support either side of the argument so I decided it was not worth putting him through it.
