Circumcision

For male babies what are the reasons if any for christians to circumsize?

 

They claim it's for cleanliness and hygene. However, there's no real reason other than societal pressures. IMO, leave it alone. There are a lot more uncut boys and men than you think.

 

I figure that HAS to be the case since I never find myself thinking about it.

 

Get ready to have a kid and you will have to think about it.

 

Seriously, from what I've read, most of it has to do with health reasons. It's why the Jews had it done. Same as why they weren't allowed to eat pork.

My sister had a kid. Uncut. Meat has a kid. Uncut. Several of my relatives have had kids. Uncut. Friends of mine. Uncut. The mistakes of the past are starting to be realized. I would rather have remained uncut. You should think before you open your mouth from now on.

I had it done as a baby and I do not feel like I am missing anything. My wife, however, keeps telling me that it is cruel and all to do it to the baby. I am just not sure which way I want to go on this. I really do not know of a religious reason to do it because we are not jewish...

 

From a woman's sexual point of view I think I would have a hard time getting used to a man that wasn't circumcised. But that is because I grew up in a generation where most all infant boys were circumcised. And really thought that an uncircumcised penis wasn't as clean. I know that isn't necessarily true but when you have believed something for the first 30 years or so of your life it is pretty much hard wired in your thought process.

I have never seen a man that wasn't circumcised since most of my generation of guys are so maybe the change in thinking circumcision isn't necessary will change the thought process of the younger generation of women also.

How hard and/or painful is it for a man to be circumcised after he is an adult and can make that decision for himself?
