Wonder if this kid could end up in the ACC?

CINCINNATI -- Point guard Devan Downey is leaving the University of Cincinnati.

Downey has told the school that he will transfer at the end of the spring quarter. Downey is from South Carolina and said he wants to play closer to home.

His departure is the latest fallout from Bob Huggins' ouster as head coach in August. Andy Kennedy was interim coach last season, and Downey had indicated he would stay at Cincinnati if Kennedy got the job.

Instead, it went to former Huggins assistant Mick Cronin, and Downey started weighing his options for transferring.

Downey averaged 11.9 points per game last season as a true freshman.

He'd be real good at Clemson since he'll have to sit out next year, Hamilton is going to be a senior, so in 2 years the reigns will be Downey's to take.

Yep, was thinking either of those or maybe UNCC, not sure what other schools he would consider close to home, maybe GT?
