So I wonder if his style offense gets a name... like the run & shoot, west coast, tampa 2...

Without the TE's, none of this would be possible... and I have been saying since Walls left, we needed a kick ass TE... now we have 2

    funny, it's the same offense.
Well, Gibbs changed his offshoot of Coryell to be more man-blocking so Dan was a man blocking scheme, but otherwise, it's the same. Dan also really didn't flip his receivers or move them around, whereas the base scheme obviously does (and features different guys, though to a point you're never going to outshine Smith). Dan did a good job disguising with formation but he didn't use the array of formations, shifts, and motions we do. When I think of Dan's motion I think of Muhsin moving toward formation to block.

But, it's all how you run it, and to be fair how you are allowed to run it. Not unlike how Martz obviously runs the same O, with the same language and the same core beliefs, but he thinks the TE is a roleplayer (as did Henning) where most Coryell guys worship the tight end. Chud, for one instance, doesn't seem as fond of the F post, there currently aren't any option routes and there's not much of a drive route presence from the TEs, even though there are two on the field so much.

Also notice how many times 22 personnel is mentioned in that drive. You don't think about us using it a lot, but we really do use it a fair bit.

I still say he won't get a head coaching offer after one season as coordinator on a losing team, no matter how great he's been. Who knows about down the road, but I think we're safe for now, so hopefully they address the defense during the off-season.
