Chucks a guy who just doesn't "get it" Still bitter over NC State, I heard his interview before the NC State game this year. Could not say anything good about TOB or NC State. (Whether he meant it or not at least bull crap it and look a little classy) but I can't believe it was always like this at FSU for Chuck. He was there for a very long time and after every FSU game you would see players coming to seek him out post game. He was obviously popular at one time with FSU. I just wonder if being their opponent on the field and on the recruiting trail didn't change some feelings down there.

As for the NC coaches...That part I never got. He had numerous kids here from North Carolina. But he always went for the "higher profile" NC kids. Tony Baker, Andre Brown, Mario Williams, Manny Lawson, Derrick Morris, Devonte Edwards, AJ Davis, Curtis Crouch, Demario Pressley, TA McClendon etc etc. That crap about not recruiting NC was bull, but its because he didn't I guess go for the lower tier NC kid. But somebody did a great job getting the lie out there that he only wanted Florida kids.

I think Amato did a lot for football at NC State. He brought excitement into the program which was needed. He was able to get Carter-Finley expansion and the stadium needed it and has done a lot for NC State football. He was able to recruit some amazing talent but after the Rivers era, he was trying to hard to find a quarterback and putting way to much pressure on each of them to excel. During his coaching career, he was 4-1 in bowl games and the first ACC coach to beat FSU at FSU. Now later in his career at NC State he slowly coached his way out and after the 3-9 season, it was time for him to go.

I love how he wore sunglasses during night games what a dumbass. State did the right thing when they got rid of that piece of shit.

......Amato helped raise a huge amount of money. As for recruiting Phillip Rivers, it was Joe Pate who gets the credit for that.
TOB is a DAMN good coach and administrator. I'll bet BC is wishing they had him now.:apeani:

Did you not notice that BC has had a much better record than State each of the last two seasons? It makes you wonder if O'Brien was a good coach or if he just had good assistants at BC.

Did you notice Miami won a National Championship the year after Davis left?

True, but they were 11-1 and finished ranked 2nd in the nation during Davis' last year at Miami. And I thought your whole excuse for O'Brien is that he coaches players rather than just recruits talent. If he's such a great coach and isn't dependent upon the players he recruits, then why has BC been so much better without him than N.C. State has been with him?
