Yep. He was borderline, and if he would've kept his nose clean he'd still be here. This just made the decision easier.

Tuten is less than borderline, and Fox will have an opportunity to see how he does at tackle. He's already watched Melvin stink it up at guard.

If it means we won't have Tuten next year, then that's worth sucking some more. But if we have to deal with subpar play by him and Mangum and see them start next year I'm going to go insane.

  3. Magnus,

I know you will have the answer to this. What impact will Terry's release have on the salary cap? I am sure his signing bonus will hurt us on the cap for a few years. Thanks in advance!

that's easy. No cap hit next year because this was his last year under contract. I don't know if we'd save the last six weeks' pay on the salary cap, but that may have been a factor in being able to sign Jacquet.

Sly, the wife's name is nothing unusual to me. I once had a client named Syringe, I now have a client named Snow Boy. Honest to God, I'm not making this shit up.

1 step forward, 2 steps back.

  8. well, do we use our top 5 pick on a OT now?

Smith can't be released for that....player's can't be released for disciplinary reasons. at least that is what hurney said on the page this am

No. Nothing has changed, he wasn’t going to be here by anyone’s estimation. We use this on a good, fairly proven mid-priced Right Tackle in Free Agency. It’s worked with Stuessie, Donnaley and Mitchell.

Orlando Pace anyone? :D That would solve that little problem real quick.
