Sorry but that isn't true. Ragone is a better athlete than Simms and I'd put Ragone over Simms in almost every category.

Kingsbury doesn't have a pro arm. Period.

If it were me - I'd try hard to move down in the first and get another 2nd. Look for Jacobs or Johnson or Lee Suggs later in the round then look Ragone or Simms in 2nd and another RB or WR with new 2nd rounder.

I see more value in that - especially if things go as projected and A. Johnson and the QBs are gone. Otherwise we are looking at a reach at 9 for an offensive guy we could get later in the round.

    OR

Cut the bullshit and go up and get a franchise QB (Leftwich or Palmer). There seems to be some takers and at a reasonable price. Maybe we just get a QB for the future and sign Davis, Stewart and a descent WR (like Gadsden). I would have a huge smile on my face if we came out of this draft with Leftwich or Palmer on the roster - regardless of the rest of the offseason. If we can somehow secure one of those dudes - I don't see how we can pass on the opportunity.

Simms was a product of the system. He never really had a chance to flourish. I hear he's been doing well in Mobile this week. I wouldn't mind seeing him. Maybe trade down to the high teens - low 20's, pick up Simms and a 2nd and a couple of 3rds...

Hurney was on WFNZ today and when asked about Simms he said that he needed to improve his consistancy - on two separate occasions. Didn't seem like he was that high on him.

He said that Kingsbury reminds him alot of Pennington, very efficient, very smart, but lacks the Strong Arm -

Boller moved up in the top 5 QBs and Simms/Kingsbury both hurt themselves, imo. If Palmer and Leftwich are gone at 9, it will be extremely hard to blow that pick on a QB which will be a reach at that point, plus it'll be hard to trade down from there. Hopefully, since most of the guys who improved their stock are on defense, maybe more offensive choices will be around at 9. Who knows though. Kiper has Grossman rated as the 3rd best QB behind Palmer and Leftwich, and I definitely disagree with that. Boller/Ragone will fight for that distinction right up until draft day, imo. I'd really be disappointed with Simms or Kingsbury unless they come in the 3rd round. I'd rather have Dorsey in the 4th than either of those guys in the 3rd, depending on what's available in the 3rd. But anything could still happen depending on workouts and the combine.

I already had Boller as my third QB of the eligibles. Then Ragone, and then Simms, but Simms far down from Ragone.

Why don't the observer sports writers know half what the average fan knows? Who the HELL would select Simms at #9 if scounts are having questions about his ability and he is far from a sure bet. Seems like half this board could get a job writing for the Observer. What is the point of writing about the obvious. Why not go on a limb and investigate who should be #9. Then write a damn lead story.

Not to mention the Observer was 3 days late breaking the Del Rio to Jacksonville story.

I'd rate them Palmer, Leftwich, Boller at this point. Grossman will draw some interest from many, but name one Florida QB from Spurrier's system that has ever been a good Pro? I some how don't see him bucking the trend. Sims never has shown he has what it takes to excell at the next level, just makes too many mistakes. An arm is wonderful to have, but it doesn't do a damn bit of good if you're completing more to the DB's than the WR's. Don't even get me started on Ragone.
