Don't know if this has been touched on before, but was just reading about him on espn.com. Should the Panthers take a flyer on him? I myself always thought that he was the problem with Texas and that they should have stuck with Applewhite.

Mack Brown is the problem with Texas.

Brown is the problem at Texas, he can't motivate his team when it really counts.
Simms is the second coming of Jeff George. He's a spoiled rotten little bastard. I'd prefer to see his arrogance in any jersey, but a Carolina jersey.

I just have a good feeling about Simms. I think he's the perfect QB for the offense we're looking to run. Not to mention the notoriety he would bring us on a national level. Just because someone did/didn't have success on the college level doesn't mean that will/won't translate into the NFL, right Chris Weinke.

Simms has tools but is overated. I don't get the feeling that he will ever put up big numbers and he is a limited athlete with no mobility. Throwing 14 ints with NO TDs against top 10 teams really makes me leary of him being a quailty player at the next level. I would go after a Dave Ragone or Grossman way before a Simms. Let someone else take a chance on him.

Also, I would add that I believe Dave Ragone is one of the more underated guys in this draft. He will be a good QB at the next level - especially if he has weapons around him.

simms is a whole lot more mobile than dave 'gut' ragone.

he's got a better arm than winky ever thought about having.
