Chris Simms in critical conditon (no joke)

I just looked at the hit again and Gruden is full of shit. Simms was just releasing the ball when Wallace got his arms around him, and Al couldn't see that the ball was out when he slammed Chris down, even if you argue that he should have pulled up. There was nothing out of line about the hit, and moreover, it wasn't even one of the harder hits he took that day. Simms was already visibly laboring at that point, so much so that J.C. Pearson criticized Gruden on-air for calling a bootleg when his QB was already hurting.

 

Gruden is just trying to draw the attention away from the fact that Chris was probably pushing himself to keep from getting blasted publicly by him for being soft.

 

Gruden is full of organic fertilizer.
