I think he did it becuase Gruden has been riding his ass publicly. He was trying to prove something to the coach and could have gotten himself killed. I bet Gruden feels like an ass now.

He looks like one now, whether he feels like it or not.

They'll get their wish. They'll probably win those games. Simms bites, and we almost lost to them. Doesn't make me feel great about us.

I'm working at the hospital right now and I just asked a doctor his take on a ruptured spleen.

According to him, when a spleen ruptures, there is internal bleeding that takes place. Usually, the blood will go into the stomach area.

Most people do not feel an immediate shot of pain. As the bleeding gets worse, the pain gradually increases until it becomes too much to handle. Ultimately, it becomes incredibly painful, and if not attended to soon, will create some very serious conditions (other than just painful).

    Just my two cents' worth.

ESPN had its consultant doctor on, and he said something similar. He said its not unusual for players with a ruptured spleen to continue playing, because it only gradually becomes apparent what's happened.

The pain and looking pale, shocky, with low blood pressure, are the symptoms. I guess you have to lose alot of blood before that happens.

I thought it was very odd that a QB would be dehydrated. I guess loss of blood would do that too. I'm guessing the IV would give him a lift too. I bet there's glucose in that IV as well as fluids.
