Both are tremendously helpful--I'd do both regularly if I could afford it. Doing both multiplies the good effects, & helps insure that the muscles don't knot up & pull the spinal alignment back out of place (muscles that have been in spasm for quite some time before treatment are more prone to re-knot).

The massage feels better though. Practically as good as sex :)

i don't like chiropractors. go to an orthopedist. they stick to the science. maybe you can find a good chiropractor who's also an orthopedist, but i doubt it.

my wife went to a chiropractor as a child and they insisted one leg was longer than the other and gave her a shoe lift that caused her undiagnosed scoliosis (how a chiropractor can't see scoliosis is beyond me) to worsen to the point of requiring surgery.

any branch of medicine that espouses that diseases can be cured by back adjustments and shit... weirdos...

so did the chiropractor cause the scoliosis with the shoe lift or did she already have it?

I've had a good number of "M.D.s" give me some bogus diagnosis just to wheel me through the system & make their $$$. I don't think that's any more common to chiropractors than to any other branch of the medical profession.

No matter what you do, you need to be informed & proactive. You can't just rely on what the "experts" tell you; you have to be looking out for yourself.

it did nothing to help and probably made it much worse.

part of the problem with quacks is that they make you think you're treating a problem when you're not. instead of getting treatment like you should, the problem worsens and requires more extreme measures later -- even if they don't actually do harm, per se.

chiropractors are probably fine for some people -- chronic back pain that routine adjustments might relieve, for example.

I don't get down with chiropractors 'fixing' anything but back problems.

But they're good at that. I've gone for adjustments, etc., and while I learned to adjust myself eventually, they could help me out occasionally if I needed badly enough. The thing is, you don't need to go regularly unless you're in pain.

Oh I had one that fixed my leg. I did have one leg that looked shorter then the other one. But felt like it had popped out of the socket. When he showed me the x-rays it was kinda twisted. Anyway he fixed it about 7 months ago, and I've been good since. However, I agree when I'm in pain again I'll go back, but not on a regular basis to make his car payment.

So, QCH--have you come to any conclusions? Made any decisions? Tried it out for yourself?

    Feedback, please :)
