It was retaliation. No doubt in my mind,He did not come close to walking a batter the entire game.He knew exactly what he was doing in hitting both batters on their hands.Luckily neither had a broken hand.

Pedro's philosophy:If you can't beat em hurt them. The Yanks have owned the Red Sox for about 100 years.Should have never traded that guy named Ruth.

Hey Franchise...I think the Yanks won the game and are leading the division again as usual.

Money doesn't get you everything.Just ask the Mets and Dodgers.

We do have one thing in common.I hate the Braves.

yankee fans, you guys are on crack. I have no dog in this fight (boston/yanks), but you all are being ridiculous. I watched Soriano with special attention last night during the All Star Game to see EXACTLY where he stands, and he stands so close to the plate that his head and hands are actually over the plate. I like Soriano and it is a joy watching him. I think he may very well go down as the best second baseman EVER if he keeps up what he is doing for 15 years, but Pedro and the rest of the league should continue "buzzing his tower" until he decides to step back a few inches, until then, Pedro and others should continue to throw high and tight at him, or he will go 2-4 with a jack every night.

Metro...I will give you the hit on Soriano's hand. That evened things up for Rocket going inside and hitting the Boston player a few days earlier. When he drilled The very next batter Jeter also on the hands thats when all hell should have broken loose.

Pedro knew exactly what he was doing. It was intentional and everyone in the park knew it.From there on he had pin point control. He did not come close to walking a batter the rest of the game.

My only point is that Pedro knew what he was doing.I would not have said a word about the incident if he had only hit Soriano. When he drilled Jeter also I thought he crossed the line.It should be interesting when they play again next week.

I do agree with you that it is ashame that pitchers do not have to bat in the AL.They should have to get in the box and face the music for their actions.

ktown, go back and watch the tape of Pedro hitting Jeter. It was a check swing! It was Jeter's own fault. If you are diving over the plate like Soriano and Jeter do with your body and hands, they are gonna get hit. If those two hit honestly, it would of just been a up and in fastball. btw, when pitchers try to hit batters at that level, they aim at their hips where it is impossible to move out of the way. Both of those pitches were tailing fastballs that Jeter and Soriano started to swing at.
