Charlotte's Bowl Game

    Anybody know what the matchup will be for The Continental Tire Bowl here in Charlotte on December 28? I am hearing Virginia/West Virginia, which should be a hell of a game. I've heard we also have a shot at Virginia Tech if UCLA wins this weekend.

    Probally Pittsburg vs. Va- It would probally be Va vs. Va Tech but, they just played last week. WVa will probally play NC State in the Gator Bowl.

    Big East No. 4/5 vs. ACC No. 5/6
    West Virginia vs. Virginia -- If West Virginia is bumped by the Irish, it winds up here against Virginia. If not, look for Pittsburgh here.

    This REALLY sucks. I wanted State, Clemson, or even Wake from the ACC. How the hell we get stuck with Virginia, I'll never know. I was planning on going to this game, but I'm not sure now. :mad:

    Also, this fucker is on at 11:00 in the morning???? WTF is up with that?? I probably won't go.

    says it all depends on the Irish.

    If Irish win, it's ga tech vs. va tech.

    if irish lose, virginia comes here, but i think west virginia gets the nod. i left the paper at the bar, but its on page 2.

    Per friends at Raycom Sports, the matchup is contingent solely on the UCLA/Washington State game. If Washington State wins, we get Virginia/West Virginia. If UCLA wins, we get Virginia Tech/Georgia Tech. No way we get Boston College. Pittsburg not a chance either - they have accepted bid to Insight. Virginia and West Virginia want to come here bad, and they will both travel well. 11am start time was solely an ESPN decision, based on the date of the game.

    The Irish are done until a bowl game. If UCLA wins, then Washington State is out of the BCS, which may mean the Irish get invited to a BCS game. They'll most likely go to the Gator.
