He has a private organization, he can hire who he wants, but I was just wondering if he is hiring the best people or just playing some kind of payback affirmative action game. He started the first all black Tv station, why not the first all black professional sports franchise.

I do think that Chris Zwiler guy is white, based on his name, but I have no idea what authority he has. I think its obvious every decision maker for Bob Johnson has to be black.

So what? It's his franchise and he can hire who he wants. I'm just doing it without wondering about his motivations for doing so or the implications of doing it.

MY .02: I hope Bob is hiring these people because they are the best available person for that job. Folks will jump back on the NBA bandawagon in this town only if this team wins. I think Bernie Bickerstaff will do OK as a GM, but I was really hoping the Bobcats would've spent more time looking at the guy in Italy who runs Benneton; Why couldn't the team wait until the season was over with (maybe make Bernie Interim GM until this guy could leave his team)

tapscott is a good hire- from what i've heard, he has a really good repoire with players and agents around the league. bickerstaff is the only questionable hiring he has made- but i see it as this. bickerstaff wanted a job so bad that bj gave it to him, with the agreement of "you get us to point X, and then you quit and we get someone good." honestly, what GOOD coach would want to coach an expansion team? dell is a great hire.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Tapscott was hired didn't he say he was looking for a first coach that would only stick around for two or three years, then step aside for some else when the team matured a little?
