Charlotte vs Louisville...

Yep, what 69 said. It's one game.

 

It sucks. They played a great game, and we didn't. Any other thoughts, reasons, excuses, etc, as much as I feel like unloading, don't change the game outcome. We got beat by the #9 team in the country, and didn't make the shots.

 

Hard to tell isn't it? It's kind of hard to believe he went to any college.

 

Ran into a buzzsaw tonight. All the 3's took us out of our game. We'll be back.

 

This game was over at the half. Louisville wasn't going to lose this game.

We seemed confused by their extended zone. The high post was wide open and our big guys should have had one-on-one coverage down low. Instead, we were happy to shoot 35 3s from 35 feet. If we continue play this type of ball in the NCAA tourney, we will not make it past the 2nd round.

Here is some more:

- Louisville is a tough matchup for us on D. Obannon, Dean and Garcia, who does Plav guard?

- No, it wasn't just Plav getting torched by Obannon. Once Withers went for a steal and didn't make it to his spot leaving the corner open for a 3. Another time Eddie took a head fake, got beat by his man. Mitch had to help leaving the corner open for a 3.

-Eddie wasn't aggressive on offense. If he had a chance for CUSA POY he blew it last night.

- A missed dunk, 2 fouls and lost a rebound out of bounds. Mr Iti accomplished this in the first couple of minutes of the game.

- After they put the hard foul on Mitch he quit driving the basket.

- Goldwire gets lost on D and jacks up some wild shots on offense. Freshman I guess.

- I thought Withers had a pretty good game. Our guys seem reluctant to get him the ball when he post down low. I don't get it.

- A Saturday game at S. Florida after a Thursday game at Louisville. Tough scheduling, Barry49s is worried.

 

I hate it that UNCC lost... but I will tell ya that kharma bites ya in the ass some times. :xyzthumbs

 

I'm sorry but you talking about yourself in 3rd person is funny.

 

Was it just me or was it funny to see Louisville double teaming Plavich from 30 ft out? I can understand why but it was funny nonetheless.

 

I can give you some reasons:

-the defenders are taller than him. That makes it difficult for him to pass over or around them.

-the defenders are quicker than him so he sure can't dribble around them. In his defense not many people can dribble around a double team.

-he is a mediocre passer and less than average ballhandler.

-our offensive spacing is sometimes horrific.

- Louisville likes to force you into turnovers and quick shots so they can run.

Pretty boy had a good gameplan I must admit.

 

Granted, he had a horrid matchup this week, but when does that guy play D well?
