    Most likely 2.

RPI and conference rankings are stats for suckers. Also, to say the A-10 might be a top 3 conference is completely delusional.

That was a lesson is what it was. What a disgrace Lutz is.

I guess you can't play Mercer and Gardner Webb every night. Eventually you have to play mediocre teams and get embarrassed.

Do you really believe the A-10 is the 3rd or 4th best basketball conference in the country? Better than the ACC, SEC, Big 10, Pac 10, Big 12 and the Big East? Even the Mountain West is as good as or better than the A-10.

In the last five years the A-10 has received 3 bids, 3 bids, 2 bids, 2 bids, 1 bid to the NCAA Tournament. Eleven bids in five years equals 2.2 bids per season.

Year in, year out? No, not even close.

The A-10 is on par with the SEC this year. Not as good as the ACC, Big East or Big 12. At least, according to the numbers. If we didn't have Fordham, I don't imagine the conference would be behind the ACC right now, at least in the RPI.

The Pac 10 and the Big 10 are considerably further behind the top 4 conferences (of which the A-10 is one).

I am not talking about every year, just this year. Charlotte probably will finish 5th-7th, but the A-10 could easily be a 5 bid league this year depending on how conference play shakes out. Were the NCAA tournament held today, the A-10 would have 4 locks and 1 bubble and no Charlotte is not in that group.

So, while I recognize that the season is only half way over, the conference has established itself as one of the top 4 and will almost assuredly stay top 5. Depending on how the teams perform to close out the season, we may not finish ahead of the SEC.

By Comparison, the Big East would have 6 locks and 1 bubble team, while the Pac-10 and Big 10 would only send two teams to the dance.
